Andrade is really making big moves!
It’s been less than a month since the former United States Champion was released from his WWE contract and he already has three shows lined up. First, it was already confirmed that Andrade will be returning to the Lucha Libre promotion The Crash. Now, the 35-year-old has added House of Glory to his upcoming schedule.
This will actually be the first time that Andrade steps into a House of Glory ring. At the moment, his opponent has yet to be confirmed. But that isn’t the only promotion that’s booked the former WWE star as MLA announced Andrade for their show on October 26. Like his HOG booking, his opponent has yet to be confirmed.
WWE released Andrade a couple of weeks after Summerslam, though according to several respectable sources, the release had been in the works for quite a while. Long story short, there were reportedly some disciplinary issues behind the scenes with Andrade. Allegedly, he was unhappy with the way the company was booking him and when you look at Andrade’s second main roster run then you can understand why he wasn’t happy with his position within WWE.
Thus far, Andrade has remained tight-lipped about the situation. The only time he talked was about his Summerslam tag team partner Rey Fenix. He wanted to clear the air about his relationship with Fenix and stated that the WWE star is a good friend. It seems that Andrade is taking the independent route as of now.
It’s unknown if Tony Khan has interest in re-signing him. Andrade was in AEW from 2021 to 2023 and though he had some bangers here and there, the general consensus is that his AEW was rather forgettable. Plus, there were a couple of incidents involving Andrade behind the scenes such as him getting into a fight with Sammy Guevara. Then again, Andrade wasn't particularly happy with his position in AEW, so it’s quite possible that he has no interest in re-joining the promotion. Stay tuned as more announcements about the former WWE star is likely popping up soon! Andrade did wish Rush Happy Birthday, could a reunion be next?
