Bishop Dyer will make his MLW debut at Battle Riot.
Matt Riddle is scheduled to defend the MLW World Heavyweight Championship in the company’s annual Battle Riot match and it’s shaping up to be a star studded event featuring names from all kinds of professional wrestling. For those who don’t remember, Battle Riot is a 40-wrestler match where pinfalls, submissions, and over-the-top eliminations all count.
This is also the first time that the Battle RIOT match has been held for the World Heavyweight Championship. MLW has already confirmed several big names; former MLW World Heavyweight Champion Satoshi Kojima, Paul Walter Hauser, Bobby Fish, Jesus Rodriguez, Paul London, and Brock Anderson are just some of the competitors confirmed for the match.
Now, add the former WWE United States Champion to the mix.
The former Baron Corbin is a notable name that spent his time in WWE for over a decade. During that time, Bishop became the United States Champion, Mr. Money in the Bank, the 2019 King of the Ring winner, and he was ultimately the man responsible for ending Kurt Angle’s career. Despite his size, Dyer has a surprising amount of speed and though he’s never won a world championship, the 40-year-old has grown and evolved since his shocking release in 2024.
Riddle and Dyer are very familiar with one another. These two feuded back in 2020 with the MLW World Heavyweight Champion getting the better of Dyer during that time. However, the circumstances have changed. Riddle isn’t facing one man. He’s defending his belt against 39 wrestlers. Dyer is known to be a cunning wrestler, and this sort of environment actually favors the former WWE star.
Battle Riot is rounding out nicely. Check out the updated line-up below:
