Earlier today, Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega finally did battle at New Japan Pro Wrestling's Wrestle Kingdon 12 PPV with the IWGP United States Championship on the line. It was a brutal back and forth match which included plenty of high spots, a variety of weapon shots, and even some blood after Y2J busted his foe open. However, it wasn't the WWE Superstar who emerged victorious!
Here's an excerpt from Wrestling Inc about the final few minutes of the match which saw the former WWE Champion wind up on the losing end of a bout which has had everyone talking.
"Omega's v-trigger lands again, one winged angel hits, pin, 1-2- Jericho grabs the bottom rope and the ref stops his count. Omega heads to the top rope, Jericho shoves him down. Jericho climbs up, Kenny looks like he's going to powerbomb him, but slides under and drops Jericho face-first on the top turnbuckle. You can't escape by Omega, Jericho rolls out of the way of thecmoonsault. Codebreaker by Jericho! Slow to get the pin, 1-2! Jericho with a Lionsault attempt, Omega throws a chair at him while he hits the ropes, one winged angel on a chair! Omega with the pin, 1-2-3!"
Overall, it sounds like this was an amazing match which definitely lived up to the hype and it will be interesting finding out what comes next for Jericho now. It's thought he's still under contract to WWE so we'll probably see him back there before too long but the question now is, will Omega follow him? We'll just have to wait and see but stay tuned to TRR for updates.
