Here's What's Next For IWGP Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho In New Japan Pro Wrestling

Chris Jericho's NJPW run has been a lot of fun to follow so far but following his big win this weekend, what comes next for him outside of WWE? Here's the latest on plans for the Ayatollah of Rock n Rolla.

Chris Jericho has completely reinvented himself as part of the New Japan Pro Wrestling roster and when he went there to do battle with Kenny Omega, no one could have guessed that his next match would be one where he took Tetsuya Naito's WGP Intercontinental Championship from him!

At the end of the match, Jericho fled from EVIL so does that mean we'll see them do battle somewhere down the line? It certainly doesn't appear as if a WWE return is happening any time soon anyway!

"So it looks like Jericho and Evil will be the next one," Dave Meltzer recently said on Wrestling Observer Radio. "Obviously with the way the beating was that there’s going to be another Jericho/Naito match down the line. So it could be Jericho and Naito at Tokyo Dome, Jericho and Evil at one of the shows before the Tokyo Dome which you know makes sense too."

Based on that, it appears as if Jericho's NJPW run will consist of two incredible Wrestle Kingdom matches inside the world-famous Tokyo Dome with him taking on a new heel persona for each match. That's going to be fun to see and points to his career resurgence on the indies continuing.
