Lee Moriarty will defend his ROH Pure Championship against Josh Woods.
It’s been confirmed by ACTION Wrestling that the longest reigning ROH Pure Champion will put his title on the line against the ROH veteran. Moriarty is fresh off his win over Xelhua at Death Before Dishonor. His upcoming title defense will be number ten, with the 30-year-old successfully beating names such as AR Fox, Nigel McGuinness, and Matt Taven.
But Josh Woods is no stranger to the ROH Pure Championship. The 36-year-old is a former ROH Pure Champion himself; the Texas native won the belt back in 2021 and kept it for an impressive 201 days. During that time, Woods had eight successful title defenses with some of those names being Silas Young, Rhett Titus, and Rickey Shane Page. Woods hasn’t been on ROH much in 2025, but he didn’t particularly have a stellar record in the previous year. Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean this will be a walk in the park for Moriarty as Josh is an ROH original who can get a big victory when his back is against the wall.
Can Josh Woods pull out a shocking victory and end the longest Pure title run in the company’s history? We’ll find out on September 6th!
It was confirmed back in April that AEW would be partnering with ACTION Wrestling for Dean 2 and Dean 3. The Dean pay-per-views are in honor of Dean Rasmussen of the DVDVR website, who sadly passed away in 2023.
“What we’re announcing here is not just a DEAN~! 2 but a DEAN~! 2 and a DEAN~! 3 in collaboration with our friends at AEW,” Schneider said (per Fightful). “The first one is going to be May 24th outside of the Scottsdale Arena at 8 p.m. (local). It’s going to be a free show. Mad Dog Connelly is going to be on the show, Gringo Loco is going to be on the show. Coven Of The Goat. We’re going to have some AEW wrestlers and make some unique matchups with AEW guys and indie guys. We’re going to put on something very cool in Arizona. Also, DEAN~! 3 is going to be in September at the ECW Arena.”
The upcoming show will also feature Billie Starkz taking on Nicole Matthews, Heichicero, and Xelhua.
