Matt Riddle and Donovan Dijak will settle their score once and for all.
Riddle beat the giant back in May, but Dijak has been terrorizing the MLW World Heavyweight Champion for a rematch ever since.
Add in that Dijak has Bishop Dyer (aka Baron Corbin) by his side and this could be the final title match for the “King of Bros”. Matt Riddle vs. Donovan Dijak II will headline the Blood & Thunder show, but that isn’t the only news worthy matches taking place.
The Opera Cup will finally begin.
16 wrestlers from MLW, New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) will compete in the single elimination tournament that begins on August 9th.
Three matches have been confirmed for the opening round:
Opera Cup Opening Round Match: Mistico vs. Ikuro Kwon
Opera Cup Opening Round Match: Satoshi Kojima vs. Bobby Fish
Opera Cup Opening Round Match: Bishop Dyer vs. Anthony Greene
Bishop Dyer, former MLW World Heavyweight Champion Satoshi Kojima, and Mistico are entering the tournament for the first time in their careers. Dyer is no stranger to winning tournaments. In fact, the former WWE star is a King of the Ring winner. Mistico is a legend in CMLL who’s won numerous belts, but his issues with CONTRA Unit could muddy his chances at walk out of this battle the victor.
Who will advance into the second round of the annual Opera Cup?
Last, but not least, Shotzi Blackheart will make her in-ring debut for Major League Wrestling. The former WWE star isn’t making any friends as Ava Everett denounced Shotzi’s return and made it clear that she was the Queen Bee of the MLW women’s division. Can Shotzi put Ava in her place and move up within the MLW rankings?
