Matt Riddle is not done talking yet.
This time, it’s about Brock Lesnar. Now the issues between Riddle and Lesnar are well documented at this point. Brock’s problems with Riddle stem from the former WWE United States Champion’s constant criticism of his friend, Goldberg and Riddle continued promise that he would be the one to end Brock Lesnar’s career.
In fact, Brock himself confronted Riddle and shut any notion down that they would have a match together. And though Matt and Brock would have sporadic moments here and there throughout their careers, these two never crossed paths one-one-one despite Riddle making it clear that Brock was the man he’s always wanted to face.
One of those moments was when him and Riddle crossed paths at the 2022 Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship. The former WWE star discussed the layout for the match and claims that Brock Lesnar went into business for himself.
“I’ve worked with Brock (Lesnar) a couple times, and at Elimination Chamber in Saudi, he literally forgot what number he was supposed to come out, punched the plexiglass door, which isn’t super strong. I can kick through it but you’re not supposed to, and then he just bum-rushed. He cut the match by 15 minutes. He’s like, ‘Oh! Sell. F5…’ And Paul Heyman pretended like it didn’t happen. He was like, ‘Oh, that was my mistake,’ and it’s like, no, it wasn’t. It’s f*cking him, dude. He just went into business for himself.”
It’s unknown if this is true or not. It’s doubtful that we’ll get any answers anytime soon. Brock Lesnar isn’t much of an interview guy and the few that he’s done, he’s never mentioned Matt Riddle once.
Matt Riddle has been on a tour of bashing WWE stars as of late. First it was CM Punk, AJ Lee, Roman Reigns, and now his forever rival Brock Lesnar. Despite being named in the Janel Grant lawsuit, Brock Lesnar made his shocking return at Summerslam by attacking the former WWE Undisputed Champion John Cena. Lesnar followed that up with a dominant and one sided win over Cena at WrestlePalooza. At this time, it’s unknown when he’ll make his return.
As for Riddle, he’s still doing his thing down in Major League Wrestling. He recently lost the MLW World Heavyweight Championship to Mads “Krule” Krugger at MLW Fightland and turned heel a month later. Given all of the controversies he’s been apart of for the past couple of months, that was definitely the right call.
