Two former MLW World Heavyweight Champions will collide.
For the first time ever, Matt Riddle and Alex Hammerstone will meet at the upcoming Slaughterhouse event on October 4th. Originally, these two behemoths were supposed to meet for the world title, but Mads Krule Krugger ruined those plans. Though it wasn’t Riddle’s fault, Hammerstone is not happy about the cancellation of his once promised world title match.
Hammerstone has been quite frustrated lately. Though he’s coming off a strong win over Matthew Justice at Fightland, the 34-year-old feels that his career has hit a crossroad. When the former MLW World Heavyweight Champion left, he expected his career to reach incredible heights. But it didn’t.
And the trajectory of his MLW return has seen him lose the chance at winning both the MLW World Heavyweight title and the MLW National Openweight title. But one conversation with his former Dynasty partner MJF has awakened a beast that was asleep for quite a while.
Unfortunately for Matt Riddle, he’s the next target for Hammerstone’s destruction, but the “King of Bros” is also in desperate need of a win. For 245 days, Riddle was on top of the mountain in MLW, but that all came crashing down earlier this month. Matt is looking to get revenge on the man who stole what should be his.
Who will come out of this match the winner?
We’ll find out at MLW Slaughterhouse on Saturday, October 4 at Thunder Studios Arena in Long Beach, CA and presented live on YouTube and on cable on beIN SPORTS. The show is quickly stacking up as Kurgger will defend his MLW World Heavyweight title for the first time in a Chamber of Horrors match. Mistico and Ultimo Guerrero are scheduled to collide in an Opera Cup Quarterfinals match. So are Bishop Dyer and Satoshi Kojima.
