MJF and Mistico will finally settle their feud.
Ever since Grand Slam Mexico, the two wrestlers have been at odds against one another. MJF has been going around the indie circuit beating the crap out of Mistico. Though the CMLL star has gotten his fair share of hits here and there.
Now, MJF vs. Mistico has been confirmed for the upcoming Anniversary show on September 19. Fresh off his win over Zandokan Jr. on Friday, Mistico confronted the CMLL World Light Heavyweight Champion and MJF agreed to fight him for his prestigious belt if he put something of value on the line.
That ended up being Mistico’s mask. Then it was official: title vs. mask next month.
MJF beat Averno on August 1, 2025, to win the CMLL World Light Heavyweight title. Averno was been the World Light Heavyweight Champion for 435 days; beating top talents such as Esfinge, Zandokan Jr., Legendario, and MJF’s biggest rival, Mistico.
Speaking of Mistico, he’s never won the light heavyweight championship. The CMLL star is a former world middleweight and welterweight champion though, and he’s held those belts for a combined number of 1,111 days. This isn’t Mistico’s first time putting his mask on the line, but will it be his last? We’ll find out next month!
MJF is quite busy these days. The AEW star is set to challenge Adam “Hangman” Page for the AEW World Championship at Forbidden Door on August 24, 2025. Could MJF walk into Mexico with two world titles around his waist?
