Battle Riot is really taking shape.
Matt Riddle is scheduled to defend the MLW World Heavyweight Championship in the company’s annual Battle Riot match and it’s shaping up to be a star studded event featuring names from all kinds of professional wrestling. For those who don’t remember, Battle Riot is a 40-wrestler match where pinfalls, submissions, and over-the-top eliminations all count.
This is also the first time that the Battle RIOT match has been held for the World Heavyweight Championship. MLW has already confirmed several big names; former MLW World Heavyweight Champion Satoshi Kojima, Paul Walter Hauser, Bobby Fish, Jesus Rodriguez, Paul London, and Brock Anderson are just some of the competitors confirmed for the match.
Now, add current MLW National Openweight Champion Matthew Justice to the mix.
Thus far, Justice is the only person in the match that has the opportunity to walk out as a double MLW champion. The 36-year-old has been tearing it up in the company for the past two years and this match is fit for the Openweight champion. However, Justice comes in with baggage as he’s been having problems with the Rogue Horsemen. It surely won’t be an easy win, but the group of Bobby Fish, BRG, and the Andersons have made it their mission to make Justice’s life a living hell. Can Matthew Justice walk out as a two-division champion?
That wasn’t the only match confirmed. As MLW added what’s sure to be an action packed trios match as Atlantis, Atlantis Jr., and Star Jr. will take on Último Guerrero, Bárbaro Cavernario, and Magnus. Also, TJPW’s HIMAWARI brings fresh blood to the women’s division next month.
