Paul Walter Hauser has won his first championship!
PROGRESS held their Chapter 179 show in Las Vegas and it came with plenty of surprises. The biggest is the 38-year-old beating Adam Priest, EFFY, Charles Crowley, & Simon Miller to win the Progress Proteus Championship. Maybe the power of Chris Pratt helped him.
Hauser is living out his lifelong dream as a professional wrestler. However, the 38-year-old is still pretty active in films and television as the actor-turned-wrestler is featured in the upcoming Naked Gun reboot and Fantastic Four: First Steps. But Paul has been making big moves in the wrestling landscape in 2025.
Recently, it was confirmed that he was on board for MLW as Executive Producer. He’s consistently wrestled across the globe as Hauser also competed in DEFY, Wrestlecon, Southern Honor Wrestling, and The Wrestling Revolver. The actor-turned-wrestler was even involved with an angle at AEW’s Revolution.
It seems that AEW is building towards a QT Marshall vs. Paul Walter Hauser match down the line as the former just called him out on a recent episode of Ring of Honor. There’s no word on when that match could take place. But for now, Hauser is finally written in the wrestling books as a champion.
Simon Miller held the belt for 172 days walking into Chapter 179. At the moment, there’s no word on whether Miller will have a chance to reclaim his belt at a future date. This was the only title change during PROGRESS’ show in Vegas.
