Unfortunately, former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio has been pulled from the New Japan Pro Wrestling show, Strong Style Evolved, which takes places this Sunday. On Feburary 10, Mysterio made a surprise appearance via titantron and challenged New Japan legend Jushin Liger to make a match. Liger immediately accepted.

Mysterio suffered a torn bicep in a tag team match on an independent show earlier this month.

Nevertheless, Will Ospreay has stepped up to faced Liger and this should be one of hell of a match.

The event will air this Sunday at 7CT/8ET on AXS TV, with the broadcast team being the legendary Jim Ross and Josh Barnett.

The card looks fun on paper and is definitely worth a check out in case you’re curious about New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Here are the matches below:

Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi vs. The Young Bucks.

“Switchblade” Jay White vs. Hangman Page for the IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Championship.

Kazuchika Okada and Tomohiro Ishii vs. Minoru Suzuki and Zack Sabre Jr.

Jushin Liger vs. Will Ospreay.

Hiroshi Tanahashi, Dragon Lee, Kushida, and Ryusuke Taguchi vs. Tetsuya Naito, Hiromu Takahashi, Sanada, and Bushi.

Cody and Marty Scurll vs. Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa.

Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Lance Archer vs. Toru Yano and Chuckie T.

Juice Robinson and David Finlay vs. Hirooki Goto and Gedo.

Roppongi 3k and Rocky Romero vs. Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian, and Scorpio Sky.
