Sammy Guevara is going to have a busy night tomorrow.
Dustin Rhodes is currently sidelined with a major injury and is expected to be out for a long time.
The 56-year-old currently holds two titles: the ROH Six Man and World Tag Team titles.
Dustin has been ROH Six Man Tag Team Champions with Marshall and Ross von Erich for over 370 days. A good portion of those days Rhodes didn’t defend them because Marshall was sidelined for a lengthy period of time due to a torn pectoral muscle. The trio last defended those titles against Johnny TV and the MxM Collection (Mason Madden and Mansoor) in April.
Him and Sammy Guevara have held those titles for 352 days. The Sons of Texas last defended their titles against The Infantry at Supercard of Honor.
There was some question on what ROH would do now that Dustin wouldn't be able to defend both belts and Tony Khan came up with a solution. Marshall and Ross will keep the Six-Man Tag Team Titles and Guevara will help defend them against Shane Taylor Promotions (Shane Taylor, Carlie Bravo, Shawn Dean).
As for the tag belts, Guevara will keep them, but a mystery partner will replace Rhodes on Friday. It’s possible that the mystery partner could be one of the Von Erich’s, but this could also be the debut (or return) of someone who isn't on the roster. Either way, the mystery is intriguing enough.
