MLW Fightland was a huge night.
Two new champions were crowned, with the first being Templario capturing the MLW World Middleweight Championship. That wasn’t an easy task since he was facing Ikuro Kwon, who made sure to use his CONTRA members to his advantage.
But luckily for Templario, he had help by his side as Don Gato ran out and helped get rid of the outside interference. Templario hit his finisher Debario for the win.
This entire situation started at Battle Riot VII, where Mistico vacated the MLW World Middleweight Championship due to suffering a major injury. But Ikuro Kwon tried to take the easy way out by stealing the belt. Once officials got the belt back from the CONTRA member, it was on hold until Templario vs. Ikuro Kwon was made official for September 13th.
Templario is a relative newcomer to MLW. The CMLL star came in at SuperFight by pulling off a massive upset by pinning Mistico in his debut match. Templario has fought across the globe before making his way over to MLW; he’s competed in New Japan Pro Wrestling, AEW, and of course, CMLL. Templario has previously won multiple titles including the CMLL World Middleweight Championship. He held that belt for 824 days, beating top names such as Flip Gordon, Volador Jr., and Dragon Rojo Jr.
MLW Fightland was a packed night that saw Alexander Hammerstone win a bloody Texas Death Match over Matthew Justice. Shoko Nakajima successfully defended her MLW Featherweight title against Yuki Kamifuku, and Zandokan Jr. beat Blue Panther in the first round of the 2025 Opera Cup. The show was quite a action packed and exciting night and the future of MLW looks promising with several new champions representing Major League Wrestling. Congratulations to Templario on capturing the MLW World Middleweight Championship.
