Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport returns this Sunday.
Bloodsport returns to London and the main event has already been confirmed. Josh himself will headline the show against someone who’s not in the professional wrestling bubble - Oli Thompson. The 45-year-old is an accomplished MMA fighter who competed in UFC, Bellator, and KSW. Thompson is a knockout specialist, with the England native’s KO record being 15 wins throughout his remarkable career. This will be Thompson’s first professional wrestling match.
This is Josh’s 14th Bloodsport. He’s reeling from his surprising loss to Gabe Kidd back in April. Barnett has lost only four Bloodsport matches, with some of those wins coming over MVP, Johnny Bloodsport (aka Johnny TV), and Royce Isaacs. Barnett is an accomplished MMA veteran himself who has won the UFC Heavyweight Championship. Some of Barnett’s wins came against Frank Mir, Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira, and Andrei Arlovski. Barnett’s last fight was in 2016; though he’s not officially retired from the sport, his mainstay has been professional wrestling since 2017.
However, Barnett has nearly a decade of professional wrestling experience as he’s notably competed for New Japan Pro Wrestling, AEW, and Pro Wrestling NOAH. This is his third Bloodsport show in 2025.
For those who don’t follow the unique format, Bloodsport started in 2018 under Matt Riddle’s name. Once Riddle signed to WWE, the event was turned over to former UFC fighter Josh Barnett. The rules are quite simple: every match will end either by knockout or submission. Instead of the traditional pro wrestling ring, the canvas has no ropes or turnbuckles.
At the moment, there’s only four matches confirmed for the Game Changer Wrestling show. It’s not confirmed yet as if there'll be more names added to the card.
Bloodsport London features recognizable indie names such as Chris Ridgeway, Lou Nixon, and AEW star Anthony Ogogo. Check out the advertised line-up for the upcoming show.
