Tomohiro Ishii returns to Ring of Honor.
As the build to Death Before Dishonor continues, the current NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion hopes to rebound from his loss to Kyle Fletcher back at Collision. Ishii hasn’t had the best luck in singles matches in AEW and ROH. In AEW, Ishii has a record of 0 - 3 when it comes to singles bouts.
When it comes to ROH, Ishii does own a victory over Preston Vance, but the New Japan star hasn’t been able to gain much traction in either brands. His opponent, Oro, is making his ROH debut tonight. Known as Oro Mensah from NXT, the former WWE star is trying to make his name known within the independent world. It’ll be a huge upset if he can win over a double champion. Will Ishii steam roll the former NXT star? Or will Oro get a huge victory over a decorated veteran?
Taya Valkyria is looking to get back into title contention. The former Impact Knockouts Champion has been lost in the shuffle these days as it’s been a couple of years since Valkyria has received a title shot. But getting a win will be easier said than done since Leila Grey is still trying to find her footing in ROH. Ms. Grey is also hoping to get into the title rankings as she wants to become the ROH World Women’s Champion. But the power house Taya Valkyrie stands in her way. Who will emerge victorious in their quest to become the new no. 1 contender?
Also, an exciting eight man tag team match has been made as the high flying team of Angelico, Serpentico, Alex Zayne, and AR Fox will take on Volador Jr, Difunto, The Beast Mortos, and Hechicero. Given that Hechicero has an ROH World Title shot in a couple of weeks, the world title challenger needs all the momentum that he can get heading into his big championship match. This should be a thrilling spectacle that steals the show.
