The Quarterfinals of the 2025 Opera Cup are complete.
The 2025 Opera Cup is shaping up to be something huge as Mistico, Bishop Dyer (aka Baron Corbin), Austin Aries, and Paul London are still in the prestigious tournament. The final Quarterfinals match has been confirmed as Volador Jr. and Star Jr. are scheduled to face one another at the upcoming Slaughterhouse show.
Volador Jr. had an outstanding contest against Titan in the opening round of the Opera Cup at Fury Road. The two wrestlers went back-and-forth for nearly 16-minutes until the controversial ending. That finish saw Volador Jr. rip off Titan’s mask and hit a small package that got him a three count. The popular CMLL star made his way over to MLW just to compete in the Opera Cup tournament and he’s found success thus far.
Star Jr. is a different story. Originally, Zandokan Jr was scheduled to take on Volador Jr., but he suffered an injury that forced him out of the tournament. Star Jr. enters his first Opera Cup tournament. Star Jr. is also a big CMLL star who made his way over to MLW in 2024. The 31-year-old has an impressive win/loss record; however, Star Jr. has yet to take the next step in his MLW career as he failed to win the MLW World Middleweight and Heavyweight titles.
Can he rebound by winning the 2025 Opera Cup? We’ll find out on Saturday, October 4th! That card is really shaping up to be something special with Mads Krugger set to defend the MLW World Heavyweight title in the main event. In the other Quarter finals match, Mistico and Ultimo Guerrero will fight to advance to the semi-finals.
