We’re less than two months away from the next Maple Leaf Pro-Wrestling show.

To rewind, Scott D’Amore was shockingly released from TNA Wrestling in February 2024. D’Amore was instrumental in helping TNA regain such positive momentum after the company came close to bankruptcy several years ago. Though the 50-year-old has previously discussed his surprising exit, there hasn’t been a confirmed reasoning behind it.

However, what is confirmed is the return of Maple Leaf Pro-Wrestling.

D’Amore is reviving a brand that’s been around since the 1930’s! D'Amore came back with MLPW in October and had an incredible show. The promotion returns for a two-night event on March 14 and 15, with several big names such as Harley Cameron, Rich Swann, and NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Thom Latimer advertised for the upcoming show.

Now it’s confirmed that WWE Hall of Famer and current AEW star Billy Gunn will appear on the upcoming show.

Thus far, no matches have been confirmed for MLPW. But this is an exciting prospect for D’Amore as he really turned around the TNA/Impact Wrestling brand. It’s going to be great to see what he can do with his own promotion, and D’Amore promises to bring the same hard work and passion to Maple Leaf Pro-Wrestling:

“We have a lot of moving pieces right now, and it all leads to an exciting 2025. We are going to be the heart of Canadian wrestling and a force in the global wrestling landscape. This is a way to honor tradition of the past and forge a new path for Canadian wrestling. I’m proud of my time at TNA, and I hold my head high for what we accomplished there in my time at the helm. We took a company from death’s doorstep and revived it into an exciting and viable alternative. Now we are going to focus that hard work, vision, and passion into Maple Leaf Pro," D'Amore said to Justin Barrasso on Undisputed.

Given that D’Amore was the one who set up the cross brand deal with NXT and TNA before his exit, could we see some WWE names in Maple Leaf Pro-Wrestling? Nobody on the WWE side has been confirmed as of yet, but Scott isn’t shooting down a partnership with the wrestling giant in the future.

“We are very happy and excited about our existing partners,” said D’Amore. “But we have an open-door policy. If WWE wants to join the party, we’d be open to exploring it.”

We’ll keep updated on the upcoming show once matches are officially announced.
