Is El Hijo del Vikingo vs. El Grande Americano next?
It appears that Ludwig Kaiser El Grande Americano is set to receive a huge push in AAA according to BodySlam.net, the WWE superstar is set to feud with the top star of AAA Lucha Libre.
“Sources indicate that El Hijo del Vikingo and El Grande Americano are expected to have a match against each other in due time. This is due to Americano’s involvement with The Judgement Day over recent weeks.”
That’s not particularly a surprise since Americano did interfere in the Dominik Mysterio and El Hijo del Vikingo's match at World’s Collide, effectively costing the latter the AAA Mega Championship. WWE has been clearly picking up steam with El Grande Americano recently as he’s in a mystery alliance with Dominik Mysterio, which has driven a wedge between Dom Dom and Finn Balor.
Americano also picked up another victory over a popular luchador on Monday, Dragon Lee. Now the report just simply says that he'll be feuding with El Hijo del Vikingo, as there’s no indication that he’ll be winning any titles in AAA. At least not yet. It’s unclear if the original vision of El Grande Americano is still intact as the main focus as of late is that he’s working with Dominik and that there’s three Americanos running around the RAW and AAA locker room.
As of this writing, it’s not clear when an official match between El Hijo del Vikingo and El Grande Americano will take place. There’s not a confirmed joint show for AAA and WWE so far, though the match can simply happen during one of AAA’s lone big show coming up. However, Lee, Vikingo, and Americano will be having a triple threat match soon.
In terms of the Dom/El Grande Americano partnership, there’s no word on how deep this is supposed to go. Finn and Dominik are teasing a break up again, so it could possibly lead to the Judgment Day finally breaking up. Or El Grande Americano may end up joining the Judgment Day just like Roxanne Perez did. Either way, big things are happening for El Grande Americano down in AAA. As for WWE, Americano will likely continue to be a featured act, though it’s doubtful that he’ll go beyond chasing (and winning) the Speed Championship.
