Marlon Vera is taking a short-notice fight at UFC 227, replacing Bharat Kandare to fight Wuliji Buren. UFC 227 is headlined by the bantamweight championship rematch between T.J. Dillashaw and Cody Garbrandt, which is set to take place on Aug. 4 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The news was announced by the UFC on Wednesday night.

Vera has had two recent losses to Douglas Silva de Andrade and John Lineker. He’s currently 4-4 in the UFC. Meanwhile, Wuliji Buren is 11-5 as a professional fighter but has yet to secure a win in the UFC.
