Money in the Bank takes place next weekend as an incredibly busy-looking summer for WWE rolls on.
The company is in a strange place at the moment, with Seth Rollins' new faction looking to establish itself and Cody Rhodes returning to continue his feud with John Cena (whose heel turn hasn't been quite the runaway success most fans imagined).
In our latest WWE rumour roundup, we have news on plans for Cena at Money in the Bank and a huge update about some new faces who will be added to the RAW and SmackDown rosters. There's also a surprising explanation for why Bronson Reed is now working alongside Rollins, Bron Breakker, and Paul Heyman.
WWE, meanwhile, is looking to curb swearing on its shows, and Mick Foley's dashed retirement hopes have also been revealed.
You can read through the latest WWE rumours below.
- When WWE moved to Netflix, the expectation was that we'd get an edgier product. That has been the case in many ways, but swearing is still censored. According to Dave Meltzer, WWE has considered asking fans not to use expletives before RAW and SmackDown air; despite that, it doesn't seem the idea has gained much traction.
- According to former WWE commentator and backstage interviewer Jonathan Coachman, musician Travis Scott has "flaked" on Money in the Bank, explaining why John Cena will team up with Logan Paul instead.
- WWE has considered holding a Draft during their recent run of shows in Tampa, Florida. Bryan Alvarez believes that, had it panned out, Stephanie Vaquer, Jordynne Grace, Fraxiom, Giulia, and Roxanne Perez would have been officially called up to the main roster there.
- Talking of Vaquer and Grace, they're both main roster bound. Bodyslam.net claims that Vaquer is heading to RAW, with Grace expected to make an impact on SmackDown.
- Vaquer lost the NXT Women's Championship to Jacy Jayne during this week's episode of NXT. Fightful Select has learned that her loss was kept a secret within the company and wasn't even mentioned on internet rundowns of the show.
- Asuka, unfortunately, isn't part of WWE's plans. If Fightful Select is to be believed, she's still not cleared despite reports earlier this year of creative plans being put in place.
- Bronson Reed recently made his WWE return as a member of Seth Rollins' faction alongside Bron Breakker. Dave Meltzer's take is that he's there to take potential pinfalls in place of his stablemates.
- WWE was "absolutely" interested in signing Willow Nightingale had she not signed a new deal with AEW, reports PW Insider.
- WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley has confirmed that he spoke with AEW star about a possible retirement match. However, what would have been a six-week program never came to fruition.
