It's been confirmed that the first episode of All Elite Wrestling will feature Cody Rhodes in action. That's hardly a surprise but his opponent will be revealed later today at 12pm ET. The fact the company is promoting this bout points to it being a big one and it wouldn't be all that surprising if a big name or even the AEW World Championship are involved.

AEW is set to premiere on TNT on Wednesday, October 2nd. The show will take place in Washington, D.C. and the name of the weekly series is expected to be revealed soon.

AEW has found a great deal of success with its PPV events but a weekly show is something else altogether and owner Tony Khan will have to make sure it impresses if he hopes to keep viewers around. Given their track record, though, we can expect this premiere to be a good one.
