It appears that Amanda Nunes will fight again in 2020 as the two-division champion is set to fight Megan Anderson at UFC 256. According to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, the two have agreed to a match-up.
Nunes is coming off a successful title defense against Felicia Spencer at UFC 250 that extended her winning streak to eleven. Some of those victories come over big names such as Ronda Rousey (via TKO at UFC 207), Cris Cyborg (via KO at UFC 232), and Holly Holm (via TKO at UFC 239). Nunes hasn’t lost a bout since 2014 and her professional record currently stands at 20 wins and 4 losses.
Anderson is currently in the midst of a two-fight winning streak thanks to her victories over Zarah Fairn Dos Santos (via submission at UFC 243) and Norma Dumont Viana (via KO at UFC Fight Night 169). The Australian is a former Invicta FC Featherweight and Roshambo MMA Featherweight Champion. Anderson’s professional record currently stands at 11 wins and 4 losses.
UFC 256 is expected to take place sometime in December. Thus far, the location is currently unknown and the placement of the title fight has yet to be determined.
