Tonight's episode of WWE NXT (August 25, 2026) emanated from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida and aired on The CW Network.

Preview & Predictions for WWE NXT:
On tap for tonight's Heatwave go-home episode, AAA World Cruiserweight Champion Rey Fenix defends against EK Prosper; Dion Lennox and Saquon Shugars collide in a Weaponized Steel Cage Match; NXT Women's North American Champion Zaria faces Kali Armstrong, with Armstrong earning entry into the Heatwave title unification match if she wins; and Sean Legacy, Dorian Van Dux, Romeo Moreno and Noam Dar take on BirthRight in eight-man tag team action.
In all cases like this, I have such extreme doubts that the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship will change hands on an NXT episode instead of something like Triplemania (or, you know, AAA's weekly broadcast in any fashion) that I just assume EK Prosper coming up short is a certainty. Rey Fenix is higher on the pecking order and while Prosper will put up a good fight, he'll fail to win the title, only winning Fenix's respect.
Likewise, when a stipulation is set up like Kali Armstrong joining the NXT Women's North American Championship and WWE Speed Women's Championship title unification match if she beats Zaria, I have no reason to believe anything will happen other than that. Zaria can lose this match by pinfall, count out, disqualification, or submission (the latter extremely doubtful), and I could see a scenario where Wren Sinclair gets involved and causes a distraction which Armstrong capitalizes on to secure herself a spot in that match.
Since Dion Lennox won the previous match against Saquon Shugars, and this is a gimmick match that feels like it will blow off the feud, my money is on Shugars winning the Weaponized Steel Cage bout.
Regarding the eight-man tag, BirthRight are a bunch of losers who win seemingly 50/50 or 1/3 of the time, but I'll still give them the edge over the ragtag group of assorted EVOLVE graduates and Noam Dar.
Here are your results for WWE NXT - August 25, 2026:
- Weaponized Steel Cage Match: Saquon Shugars defeated Dion Lennox by pinfall. Chairs, trash cans, kendo sticks, a baseball bat and other weapons came into play throughout the match, with Lennox repeatedly targeting Shugars' injured knee. Shugars ultimately climbed to the top of the cage and hit a diving crossbody onto Lennox for the victory.
- NXT Champion Tony D'Angelo addressed his Fatal 4-Way defense at Heatwave. D'Angelo pointed to his status as the only Grand Slam champion in NXT history and said Grayson Waller, Cruz Montana and Zilla Fatu may see him as a stepping stone, but he intends to beat all three and remain champion.
- Vanity Project went bowling while discussing their upcoming championship matches against Myles Borne and Tavion Heights. The group emphasized that while Borne and Heights may be friends, Vanity Project considers itself a family and expects to leave Heatwave with the gold.
- Nattie confronted Jaida Parker in the ring and accused her of wasting her potential, claiming that giving Parker her attention had forced her to improve. Parker fired back that Nattie may have reminded her who she is, but she does not need Nattie's approval. Nattie challenged Parker to a Submission Match at NXT Heatwave and Parker accepted.
- Keanu Carver defeated Kam Hendrix by pinfall. Hendrix tried to take shortcuts during the match, but Mason Rook appeared and attacked Hendrix before throwing him back into the ring. Carver followed with a Perfect-Plex to score the victory.
- Kelani Jordan was featured in a video package ahead of her NXT Women's Championship match with Kendal Grey. Jordan highlighted how quickly she has succeeded without needing an independent wrestling background, a famous last name or a faction behind her and said she only needs one opportunity to take Grey's championship.
- Zilla Fatu spoke about carrying the legacy of his father, Umaga, while insisting that his accomplishments will ultimately be his own. Fatu said his family name is both a blessing and a burden, but he has earned his way into the NXT Championship match and plans to win the title in his NXT debut at Heatwave.
- Kali Armstrong defeated NXT Women's North American Champion Zaria by pinfall. Armstrong countered Zaria late in the match and caught her with a roll-up for the victory. As a result, Armstrong has been added to the championship unification match at NXT Heatwave, making it a Triple Threat Match between Armstrong, Zaria and WWE Women's Speed Champion Wren Sinclair.
- Kendal Grey was examined backstage following her recent ear injury. Although Grey was medically cleared, she was advised against competing, but the NXT Women's Champion insisted she would wrestle at Heatwave. Wren Sinclair joined Grey backstage along with NASCAR driver William Sawalich.
- Eight-Man Tag Team Match: BirthRight (Lexis King, Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo, Uriah Connors and Charlie Dempsey) defeated Sean Legacy, Dorian Van Dux, Romeo Moreno and Noam Dar by pinfall. The match broke down with all eight wrestlers getting involved before Dempsey hit Dar with a Regalplex to secure the victory for BirthRight.
- Robert Stone questioned Keanu Carver about Mason Rook's involvement in his match, but Carver dismissed the issue by saying the referee's decision was final. Shiloh Hill then approached Stone and requested a match against Naraku following Naraku's mist attack. Stone made the match official for next week's NXT.
- AAA World Cruiserweight Championship: Rey Fenix (c) defeated EK Prosper by pinfall to retain the title. Prosper pushed Fenix throughout the match and scored several close near falls before Fenix put him away with the Mexican Muscle Buster. Fenix showed respect to Prosper afterward by shaking his hand.
- NXT North American Champion Myles Borne and Tavion Heights spoke with NASCAR driver Sam Mayer about their two championship matches at Heatwave. Hank Walker and Tank Ledger then approached the NXT Tag Team Champions and suggested that, if Borne and Heights retain, Hank and Tank should be next in line for a title opportunity.
- The show concluded with a Heatwave Summit featuring the wrestlers involved in several of Sunday's championship matches. NXT Women's Champion Kendal Grey called herself the benchmark of the division and defended her record as a fighting champion, while Kelani Jordan vowed to take the title from her. Wren Sinclair, Zaria and Kali Armstrong also traded words over their newly established Triple Threat title unification match. Grayson Waller interrupted the women's discussion wearing a "Nepo Uce" shirt aimed at Zilla Fatu and declared that the biggest story coming out of Heatwave would be Waller becoming NXT champion. Tony D'Angelo responded that Waller would do what he always does and disappoint. Cruz Montana appeared from the crowd looking for a fight, sparking a brawl involving the Heatwave competitors. Zilla Fatu arrived last and launched himself onto his NXT Championship opponents before posing with D'Angelo's title to close the show.
