Former UFC Women’s Bantamweight champion Holly Holm will remain with the UFC for the foreseeable future as
ESPN has reported that the popular MMA veteran has signed a six-fight deal with the promotion.
Holm has been with the company since 2014, but made the world take notice of her skills by being the first woman to ever defeat Ronda Rousey and win the UFC Women’s Bantamweight title. While Holm wouldn't keep the title for long, she’s had several show stealing fights throughout her stint in UFC, most notably her featherweight championship bout against Cris Cyborg at UFC 219.
Holm’s last bout was against Megan Anderson at UFC 225, which she won the fight via unanimous decision. She was originally set to face Aspen Ladd at UFC 235; however, the bout was scrapped from the match card line-up. Her agent, Lenny Fresquez, spoke on Holm inking a new deal with the promotion:
"I'm very happy with the deal," Fresquez said.
"We worked feverishly with the UFC to get this done."
Fresquez says that Holm is ready to get back to work, but did not reveal any potential future plans for the fighter.
"We're ready to get to work," Fresquez said.
"I'm sure the UFC will have some great plans to announce for Holly in the near future."
