Former NFL player turned MMA fighter Greg Hardy (2-0) earned his second professional win Tuesday night in impressive fashion, knocking out Tebaris Gordon (3-1) in just 17 seconds at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Gordon looked completely overmatched from the get-go as he was swarmed by a flurry of hard hits by Hardy. In the end, it took just 17 seconds for Hardy to end the fight with a hard right hand to the temple of Gordon.
In his two fights, Hardy has certainly looked impressive, though a little wild at times. Following his fight, the prospect acknowledged his lack of control.
"I haven't seen the replays yet, but honestly I think I can be more in control," Hardy said. "I was kind of in danger a little bit, with my hands low. I feel I can work on that, jitters. I would call it an experience. I'm all about plugging holes my man."
Despite his flaws, Hardy has no doubt impressed early on. The former All-Pro defensive lineman won a developmental contract with UFC in June when he knocked out Austen Lane in just 57 seconds. In addition to his two professional wins in the MMA, Hardy, who trains out of American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida, has a 3-0 amateur record. All of his wins have come via knockout.
