After two years away from the octagon, Matt Brown will make his return at UFC 245 on December 14, and the 38-year-old will face Ben Saunders in his return match.
Brown last fought against Diego Sanchez in November 2017 and confirmed that he was stepping away from the octagon. Brown was originally set to make his return in April 2018 against Carlos Condit; however, the bout was ultimately scrapped due to Brown suffering an injury.
Going into the match-up, Brown is 2-5 in his last five fights inside the octagon. While Brown did go out victorious, he was on a three-fight losing streak going in, suffering defeats from Donald Cerrone, Jake Ellenberger, and Demian Maia. Brown’s professional record stands at 21 wins and 16 losses.
Saunders is coming in on a losing streak himself, with the welterweight suffering losses to Takashi Sato, Lyman Good, and Sérgio Moraes. The 28-year-old last won a fight against Jake Ellenberger in June 2018. Saunders professional record stands at 22 wins, 11 losses, and 2 no contests.
Brown vs. Saunders joins the title fight between reigning bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes and Germaine de Randamie.
