Nick Diaz Not Willing To Fight Again Unless UFC Makes "An Offer I Couldn't Refuse"

Former UFC welterweight challenger Nick Diaz, who hasn't fought in the UFC in over four years, isn't willing to return unless the UFC makes an offer "I couldn't refuse."

Nick Diaz, once a UFC welterweight title challenger, hasn't fought in the Octagon since January 2015. His journey to return has been well-documented over the years as his constant struggle with failed drug tests has landed him with numerous suspensions.

Now 35-years-old, Diaz is technically able to fight in the UFC again; however, he's only willing to return at this stage in his life if the payday is worth his while. So far, that doesn't seem to be the case.

In a post on Instagram, Diaz opened up to fans eager to see his return.

I’m no role model, I’m 35 years old, but I definitely wouldn’t advise anybody to take a fight for less than their worth or fight for free. Which is practically what I would be doing at this point in taking a fight with some of these guys that are not on my level. Nor would I be within my moral ethics to even do that aside from you not painting me as a role model. If there was an offer I couldn’t refuse, things would be different. Until they are - I’d like to continue to think I’ve been fighting to make the world a better place, but until I can continue to do that: “I don’t want to hurt nobody, I just want to party.” 🍻🙏🏼🥋 Cc: @ufc @nick_diaz_academy @natediaz209 @riokid @thefloridaboy @bellatormma @tmz_tv @mmajunkiedotcom @mariolopez @arielhelwani @foursigmatic

Diaz's last fight came against Anderson Silva at UFC 183 back in January 2015. He originally lost the fight via unanimous decision, but the results were overturned after Anderson Silva tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs. Diaz also tested positive for marijuana, earning him a five-year suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission (which was later reduced to 18 months following his appeal).

Nick Diaz was previously reported as scheduled to fight Jorge Masvidal at UFC 235, but nothing official seems to have been announced as of yet.

Nick is the older brother of UFC lightweight Nate Diaz, who also hasn't fought in quite a while. Speaking of the younger brother, Nate had a brief encounter with UFC president Dana White backstage at UFC Phoenix this past weekend. Both Nate and Dana White had very different answers when asked about whether we'll see him return as well.

Of course, we all know if Dana says no, he really means yes. As for Nick's return, let us know if you would like to see him fight one more time in the UFC.
