Tagir Ulanbekov will finally make his debut on Sept. 12.
Originally, the GFC Flyweight Champion was slated to take on Aleksander Doskalchuk at UFC Fight Night: Figueiredo vs. Benavidez II; however, the UFC newcomer withdrew from the bout following the death of Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov. Ulanbekov will face Bruno Silva.
Ulanbekov is currently on an impressive three-fight winning streak by beating Denilson Matos (via submission at Gorilla Fighting Championship 22), Alexander Podlesniy (via unanimous decision at Gorilla Fighting Championship 11), and Denis Oliveira Fontes Araujo (via submission at Gorilla Fighting Championship 19) and has only one professional career loss overall.
Silva is hoping to get his first UFC win as the flyweight has failed to beat David Dvorak (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 170) and his bout against Khalid Taha was overturned. Still, Silva has an impressive record as the 30-year-old came into the promotion with a two-fight winning streak thanks to his victories over Joe Madrid and Ralph Acosta in World Fighting Federation. Silva’s professional record currently stands at 10 wins, 4 losses, and 1 no contest.
