One of the most anticipated female fights in UFC history ended with Nunes knocking out Cris 'Cyborg' Justino with an overhand right just 51 seconds into the first round.
Both fighters came out swinging. The two traded some big blows, but it was Nunes who ultimately landed a shot that sent Cyborg to her knee. While Cyborg quickly regained her balance, she was clearly affected by the power of Nunes who continued to stalk her prey. A second shot sent Cyborg to her knees again and while she did manage to stand back up, it only opened her up to more devastating blows by Nunes.
The knockout punch came 51-seconds in, making an end to Cyborg's dominant run in the featherweight division. Currently already the bantamweight champion, Nunes also became the women's featherweight champion with the win at UFC 232. That makes Nunes the first ever female fighter to win UFC titles in multiple weight classes.
She joins Conor McGregor and Daniel Cormier as the only fighters to simultaneously hold two UFC world titles. Both Conor McGregor and Daniel Cormier were ultimately stripped of one of their belts.
McGregor was both a featherweight and lightweight champion, though he was stripped of the featherweight belt shortly after he had won the lightweight belt due to inactivity. McGregor then took a break from the Octagon and stepped into the boxing ring to meet Floyd Mayweather, causing him to eventually be stripped of the lightweight title also due to inactivity. McGregor had a chance to regain the lightweight belt in August but lost to current champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Cormier wasn't technically stripped of his light heavyweight belt but would've been had he not relinquished it prior to the Jon Jones-Alexander Gustafsson fight at UFC 232. He's currently the UFC heavyweight champion.
As a double champ in the women's bantamweight and featherweight divisions, it'll be interesting to see how Amanda Nunes balances defending both titles.
