Khama Worthy will be making his UFC debut on short notice, serving as a replacement for Clay Collard at UFC 241 this Saturday. The 32-year-old Worthy, who has a professional record of 14-6 (0-0 UFC), will face Devonte Smith (10-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC).
The UFC announced the last minute replacement, reporting that Collard — who had stepped in for an injured John Makdessi — has been forced to withdraw from the lightweight bount "due to health issues."
After going 9-6 to begin his career, Worthy has since rattled off five-straight wins, four by way of finish. But his debut won't be a walk in the park as he will face former Contender Series standout Devonte Smith, who has won both of his fights under the UFC banner thus far. He's also riding a six-fight win streak, most recently defeating Dong Hyun Ma at UFC 234 last February via first-round knockout.
Khama Worthy will fight Devonte Smith as part of the UFC 241 preliminaries, which are on ESPN and ESPN+/UFC Fight Pass. The pay-per-view main card event is headlined by Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic in a rematch for the heavyweight title. Nate Diaz will also be making his return in a fight against Anthony Pettis.
