The California native’s track record inside the octagon hasn’t been the greatest lately, as he’s currently 2-3 in terms of wins and losses for his last five bouts. His final fight was against Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 232, in which the featherweight fighter lost the bout via knockout.

Mendes has been a professional fighter since 2008, and made his debut in the UFC back in 2011 by getting an impressive win over Michihiro Omigawa. Since then, the veteran has had memorable bouts against the likes of Jose Aldo, Myles Jury, Clay Guida, and his last opponent, Alexander Volkanovski.

There’s no word on what the future holds for Mendes, who ends his career with 18 wins and 5 losses.
