Alexander Gustafsson wasn't the only fighter to retire this past week.
Lightweight veteran Nick Hein has announced his retirement from mixed martial arts through facebook in a very short and to the point message:
The 35-year-old fighter started his mixed martial arts career back in 2009 after working for the police force in his homeland of Germany. He first fought around his country before finding his way to the UFC in 2014 with a 10–1 record.
His time in the promotion has been a mixed bag as his overall win/loss score in the UFC is 4-4. Hein’s last fight against Frank Camacho on Saturday saw the lightweight lose via TKO. He walked into the bout on a two-fight losing streak. Hein ends his mma career with a record of 14 wins and 5 losses.
