12 seconds. That's all it took for Walt "The Big Ticket" Harris to dispose of Aleksei Oleinik at UFC on ESPN 4. Meeting in the Octagon for the co-main event in San Antonio, Texas, the No. 14 contender wasted no time.
Oleinik, who is known for his dangerous submission game, attempted a takedown to open the round but was met with a flying knee from Harris. Knocked off-balance, Oleinik was then caught with a left-hand from Harris which caused him to collapse awkwardly to the canvas. Harris landed a few more shots before the ref stepped in to end it.
Oleinik remained out for a little while longer and upon further review, it looke dlike he might have injured his right leg during the fall. He needed help limping out of the Octagon following the fight.
Harris's 12-second finish was the third-fastest knockout in UFC heavyweight history, behind only Jairzinho Rozenstruik (:09) and Todd Duffee (:07). With the win, Harris (13-7, 1 NC) has now won three straight fights dating back to June 2018. The 42-year-old Oleinik (57-13-1) has now lost two straight (a loss to Alistair Overeem in April).
