It wasn't the exciting finish fans were probably hoping for, but the lightweight bout between Scott Holtzman and Dong Hyun Ma had plenty of exciting moments.

A powerful right hand by Holtzman sent Ma to the canvas in the first two minutes, setting the aggressive tone early. More important than the knockdown was the swelling the punch caused to the left eye of Ma. Holtzman maintained control for the majority of the first round, but Ma proved he was able to eat some shots.

Round two seemed a little more even as Ma scored a takedown in the second minute, but Holtzman quickly recovered. The two traded some blows midway through the round and it looked like Ma was getting to Holtzman, who seemingly backed away temporarily to clear his head. The break in the action didn't last long as the two fighters continued to land flush shots. Holtzman scored a takedown and delivered some final strikes before the round ended.

And that would be it. Prior to the start of the third round, the fight was called off by the Octagonside physician due to the injury to Ma's eye. The swelling apparently made it so he was unable to see out of it.

Scott Holtzman has now won four of his past five fights and is 13-3. He's seeking an opponent in the top 20 for his next match.
