UFC OTTAWA Results: Donald Cerrone Defeats Al Iaquinta; Wants Lightweight Title Winner Or Conor McGregor

Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone continued his surge up the lightweight ranks with a convincing win over Al Iaquinta at UFC Fight Night 151 in Ottawa on Saturday.  Cerrone outworked Iaquinta for five rounds, earning a unanimous decision (49-45, 49-45, 49-46) win over the No. 4 ranked lightweight.

Cerrone bloodied Iaquinta with a combination of precision strikes and powerful kicks. Cowboy had a chance to end things in the third, dropping Iaquinta to the mat with a jab and then attacking with the ground-and-pound; however, Iaquinta was saved by the bell. Iaquinta showed great heart, as well, and even tagged Cerrone quite a few times; but, ultimately, Cowboy maintained his composure and came out with the win.

After one of the biggest wins of his career, Donald Cerrone was asked who he would like to face next. Cerrone said he would like to fight the winner of UFC 242 lightweight title match Khabib Nurmagomedov-Dustin Poirier. However, he was also open to fighting Conor McGregor

Cerrone is looking to fight for the championship belt while also hoping for a big payday to setup his son's financial future. Conor McGregor, who is actually ranked No. 3 in the lightweight rankings, would actually help Cerrone with both. Cerrone is in line for a big jump in the rankings after his win over Iaquinta, but McGregor is technically still ahead of him even though he hasn't fought since UFC 229 last October. A win over McGregor would essentially guarantee a title fight next for Cerrone while also earning him a hefty paycheck.

After his impressive win, who would you like to see Donald Cerrone fight next?
