Heading into UFC Fight Night 151, Cub Swanson was riding a three-fight losing streak. But the veteran fighter is still considered among the best featherweight contenders, ranked No. 10 in the UFC's rankings, and he's easily the biggest name Shane Burgos has faced yet. The match proved every bit as electrifying as promised, as the two fighters let the punches and kicks fly.

All three rounds were pretty action-packed, but Swanson approached the third round with his corner telling him he was down two rounds. That lead to an even more aggressive third round where he attempted multiple takedown attempts that Burgos successfully fended off. The judges, however, saw the fight unfold very differently and it showed in the scorecards.

Burgos was pretty confident heading into the judges decision, but was shocked when the first score was revealed to be 30-27 in favor of Swanson. However, the next score was 30-27 in favor of Burgos. The third judge scored it 29-28 to give Burgos the split decision win.

While some could argue that Swanson won the fight, the score of 30-27 was viewed by many to be completely shocking. Maybe he took a round or two, but most would agree the match was a lot closer than a 30-27 score would suggest.

In any case, Shane Burgos improved to 12-1 with a record of 5-1 in the UFC. Cub Swanson, once again, fought valiantly, but he has now lost four straight fights.
