Leon Edwards has disappeared from the UFC rankings.

On Thursday, the UFC rankings were updated and the welterweight fighter was not only dropped from his No. 3 spot, but Edwards was taken off the system completely.

This is due to Edwards’ inactivity since his big win over former UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael dos Anjos in July 2019. Originally, Edwards was supposed to fight former UFC Middleweight Champion Tyron Woodley back in March; however, the coronavirus pandemic forced the bout to be scrapped.

Since then, Edwards has been calling out Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal, but neither of them have responded to the UFC star. Both Khamzat Chimaev and Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson, who’s currently ranked at No. 4, issued a respectful challenge to the 29-year-old; however, Leon made it clear that he had no interest in facing anyone ranked below him.

This didn’t go unnoticed by Edwards, who was rightfully upset at being pulled from his No. 3 spot:

It didn’t take long for Chimaev to respond, who’s game to step into the octagon against the top tier fighter:

Thus far, it’s unknown whether Edwards is truly pursuing a fight against the rising prospect. Chimaev is expected to headline the upcoming UFC Fight Night card on Dec. 19 in Las Vegas, but officials have had trouble finding a name opponent for the UFC newcomer.
