James Vick is officially gone from the UFC.

The Ultimate Fighter contestant is now a free agent due to the promotion electing to not renew his contract deal once it expired. The news was first reported by Aaron Bronsteter of TSN.

Vick got his UFC start in fifteenth season of The Ultimate Fighter. The welterweight managed to make it to the semi-finals; however, he was beaten by Michael Chiesa. The company opted to sign the Texas native to a deal anyways.

Vick entered the promotion strong and went on a solid a five-fight winning streak that saw him beat names such as Jake Matthews (via submission at UFC Fight Night 65) and Ramsey Nijem (via submission at UFC Fight Night 26). Vick’s professional undefeated streak was broken by Beneil Dariush at UFC 199.

The veteran did manage to bounce back with a four-fight winning streak that saw him score two TKO’s and one submission; however, following his loss to Justin Gaethje at UFC Fight Night 135, Vick failed to get back into the win column and is leaving the company on a four-fight losing streak. Currently, Vick’s professional record is 13 wins and 5 losses.

According to Bronsteter, the former UFC fighter is speaking to several promotions, though it was never confirmed who he’s currently in talks with. Vick has not spoken publicly about his UFC release as of this writing.
