EVIL is a four time NEVER Openweight Champion!
The IWGP World and Global Heavyweight titles aren’t the only ones that changed hands as EVIL has once again secured another belt thanks to The House Of Torture. EVIL battled Oleg Boltin for the prestigious title and it was essentially Oleg against the world on October 13th.
Despite Toru Yano and a couple of Young Lions trying to help Oleg, The House of Torture was just too much as Oleg had the match won after hitting the Kamikaze on EVIL, but Douki hit him with a steel pipe to the leg. That allowed EVIL to hit Everything is Evil for the three count.
Oleg’s reign ends at 120 days as he beat Konosuke Takeshita for it at Dominion. He successfully retained it against Yuji Nagata and Don Fale (who interfered early) before dropping the title to EVIL. The last time EVIL won the belt was in January 2024 at the New Beginning in Nagoya show where he beat Tama Tonga. He only kept the title for 77 days, with Shota Umino being his one successful title defense.
But a solution to the House of Torture may have already been found as Aaron Wolf, a gold medalist, came into the ring and cleaned house. EVIL grabbed a mic and stated that he was going to crush Wolf. The gold medalist didn’t seem scared by the threat as he’s set to make his in-ring debut at Wrestle Kingdom 20! New Japan didn’t confirm that he’ll be facing EVIL, but it was strongly implied.
King of Pro Wrestling was a nice surprise as three titles changed hands. Check out the full results for NJPW’s latest pay-per-view below:
