Juice Robinson will remain on the sidelines for a lengthy period of time.

NJPW announced that the former two-time IWGP United States Champion suffered a right leg injury and will be unable to compete on the NJPW Strong shows on August 7, which will hold the first round of the New Japan Cup USA. The Japanese promotion doesn’t give a timetable for when Robinson could make his in-ring return.

Robinson hasn’t competed in NJPW since a New Japan Road show back in February. The 31-year-old has been out of action due to the coronavirus pandemic and while New Japan made their big return last month, international talents such as Juice Robinson, Will Ospreay, Jon Moxley, and KENTA have been unable to compete for the promotion due to travel issues.

Before dropping the IWGP Tag Team titles back to Guerillas of Destiny (Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa) at The New Beginning in USA show, Robinson was mainly competing in the tag team division alongside David Finlay. The duo beat Los Ingobernables de Japon (EVIL & SANADA) to win the 2019 World Tag League and went on to become the IWGP Tag Team Champions at Wrestle Kingdom 14. Finlay will be competing in the upcoming New Japan USA tournament.
