Nights Five of the 2020 G1 Climax is now in the record books.

Coming in, Jay White, Jeff Cobb, Will Ospreay, and Taichi lead the A Block with four points thanks to their respective victories thus far. In a big surprise, NEVER Openweight Champion Shingo Takagi, former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada, and Tomohiro Ishii were at the bottom group with a 0 – 2 record.

All three men fought familiar foes as Ishii faced Kota Isbushi, Takagi fought Will Ospreay (who beat Takagi to win the 2019 Best of the Super Juniors tournament), and Kazuchika Okada took on the man that he beat to win his last IWGP Heavyweight title, Jay White.
