A new challenger for the IWGP U.S. Title will be determined.

NJPW's U.S. division announced that NJPW Strong, a new weekly U.S. television show on NJPW World, will start on August 7. The debut episode will host the New Japan Cup USA, which is an eight-man, single elimination tournament, with the winner challenging current champion Jon Moxley.

The first-round will begin on August 7 and run through August 21, which is when the finals will take place. At the moment, NJPW hasn’t confirmed when Moxley will defend his belt. The last time that the current AEW World Champion put the IWGP U.S. Title on the line was at The New Beginning In Osaka pay-per-view against Minoru Sukuzi back in February.

Since regaining the belt back at Wrestle Kingdom 14 from Lance Archer, Moxley has only defended the title against Juice Robinson and the previously mentioned Minoru Suzuki. Below is the complete list of first-round matches, along with the semi-final brackets as well.

Karl Fredericks vs. KENTA

Jeff Cobb vs. Tanga Loa

David Finlay vs. Chase Owens

Brody King vs. Tama Tonga

Semifinal matches:

Fredericks/KENTA winner vs. Cobb/Loa winner

Finlay/Owens winner vs. King/Tonga winner
