The New Japan Cup tournament officially begins!

The 32-man single elimination tournament is officially underway and the first day saw the in-ring returns of IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Hiromu Takahashi, former NEVER Openweight Champion Tomohiro Ishii, Toru Yano, and Togi Makabe.

As previously mentioned, the tournament will not be restricted to just heavyweight competitors as the likes of Hiromu Takahashi (IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion) and Shingo Takagi (NEVER Openweight Champion) will get a chance to fight Tetsuya Naito at Dominion on July 12.
