Adam Cole is now officially the longest-reigning NXT Champion of all time.

Finn Balor, who recently returned to the black and gold brand after a 3-year stint on Raw, had held the record with a 292-day reign, but Cole passed it yesterday and is now into his 294th day as champ.

The Panama City Playboy has had many challengers step up since he defeated Johnny Gargano to win the title last year (most recently Tommaso Ciampa), but has managed to fend them all off - usually with the aid of his friends in the Undisputed ERA, it should be noted.

It looks like The Velveteen Dream is next in line for a title shot. The match hasn't been made official yet, but it's expected to take place at TakeOver: Tampa (if it even goes ahead). Adam also needs to watch out for Balor though, because it's only a matter of time before The Prince attempts to reclaim his throne.
