Another Fatal Four-Way Women's Championship Match Set For NXT TAKEOVER: CHICAGO

A 15-woman battle royale was held on NXT this week to determine the new no. #1 contender for Asuka's championship, and, once again, three contenders wound up emerging from the chaos. More past the jump.

The 15-woman battle royale that took place this week on NXT was notable for several different reasons. First and foremost, it made it very clear that the yellow brand has an abundance of female talent on its roster and needs to start pushing them in feuds outside of the title picture. We also saw the TV debut of indie star Candice LeRae, and a couple of the ladies were announced under new names: Macey Estrella is now Lacey Evans, and Daria Berenato has become Sonya Deville.

The match itself was pretty good all things considered, but when we got down to the final three (Ruby Riot, Ember Moon and Nikki Cross) Asuka once again rushed the ring and laid waste to her competition. Of course, this prompted GM William Regal to make another fatal four-way match for the upcoming NXT Takeover: Chicago show - but something tells me this one will end with Asuka losing her championship... even if she's not actually pinned.

In related news, Roderick Strong has also been entered into the NXT Championchip picture and will face Hideo Itami next week to decide who gets the shot at Bobby Roode's title at Takeover. Will we be looking at a triple threat match, perhaps?
