After the recent NXT tapings, Andrade “Cien” Almas will be defending the NXT Championship against Aleister Black On the big Takeover show on WrestleMania weekend, which will be in New Orleans on Saturday, April 7th.

However, it seems that original plans called for Almas to face Lars Sullivan at the event - at least according to Dave Meltzer. No word on whether or not Lars was set to win the title.

Despite the push Sullivan was getting during the summer/fall, the next “monster” NXT was building hasn’t wrestled at recent NXT television tapings and live events. Meltzer noted that the word is that Sullivan has also not been at the Performance Center. He's not sure what happened with Sullivan, but he was replaced by Aleister for the Takeover main event.

Sullivan last wrestled at the NXT television tapings last month on January 4th.
