Raquel Gonzalez managed to retain her NXT Women's Championship last night at TakeOver: In Your House after an intense back-and-forth bout with Ember Moon, but her victory was overshadowed somewhat by a certain former Superstar's response to WWE's congratulatory Tweet.
Braun Strowman, real name Adam Scherr, added the comment: "She could beat all the guys in Nxt also!!!," which resulted in him trending on Twitter after the PPV event. While the Monster Among Men may have been joking, his response has been taken as a slight against the black and gold brand's "smaller" Superstars.
Braun did "defend" Gonzalez when a fan said he "had bigger pecs" than the Women's Champion, however.
Strowman also seemed happy that his comment actually gained more attention than In Your House.
Again, this may all be in jest, but it wouldn't exactly be out of character for Scherr to intentionally provoke this kind of response!
