The dream match between Io Shirai and Charlotte Flair for the NXT Women’s Championship ended in a disqualification due to “The Queen” taking out a Singapore cane and beating down her challenger with it.
As the going got tough for Flair, she bulked and appeared set to re-injury the knee that took Shirai out of action for several months; however, former NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley made her shocking return by stopping Flair’s vile attack and sent the second-generation star running.
Later on, Ripley explained how she was tired of Flair’s “Bow Down To The Queen” act and vowed to take back the NXT Women’s Championship before her and Io Shirai got into a scuffle outside of the Performance Center.
