Dakota Kai claimed the final spot in the NXT Women's Championship No. 1 Contender Ladder Match that's set top air next week on USA Network (barring any unforeseen coronavirus-related issues).
A second chance gauntlet match took place last night on NXT, with Shotzi Blackheart emerging as the standout. The up-and-coming Superstar managed to eliminate Deonna Purazzo, Aliyah, and Kayden Carter (debuting an awesome-looking float-over full nelson submission hold in the process), before being defeated by Kai.
Blackheart probably would have won that match too, but Rachel Gonzalez proved to be the deciding factor, and the former Captain of Team Kick was able to capitalize on the distraction by hitting Go To Kick for the 1,2,3.
Dakota now joins Candice LeRae, Chelsea Green, Mia Yim, Io Shirai and her old friend Tegan Nox in the ladder match.
It's hard to say who'll come out on top here, but our money's on The Genius of The Sky, who has emerged as one of the Black and Gold Brand's top stars in recent months.
